**CONCEPT SUMMARY**
Memory Maze is a sport that challenges both cognitive memory and physical agility. Players must study a mapped route through a grid-based course, then attempt to complete it from memory without hitting wrong paths.

---

**REQUIRED EQUIPMENT**

- 5x5 or larger grid made with cones or markers
- Laminated maps with correct path shown
- Stopwatch or digital timer
- Referees or volunteers to track path accuracy

---

**FIELD LAYOUT**

- Open square with cones laid out in grid pattern (e.g., 5x5 or 6x6)
- Entry and exit points at opposite ends
- Each grid square is approx. 2x2 meters

---

**PLAYER ROLES**

- 1 runner at a time
- 2 referees (1 timing, 1 tracking movement errors)

---

**GAME OBJECTIVE**

Memorize the correct path through the maze and complete it as quickly as possible. Points are deducted for stepping into wrong squares.

---

**BASIC RULES**

1. Players are given 30 seconds to study the map before running.
2. During the run, players cannot receive outside help.
3. Each wrong step adds a 5-second penalty to the total time.
4. The fastest accurate run wins the round.
5. Optional: second round with altered path for added challenge.

---

**VARIATIONS / SCALING IDEAS**

- **Team Relay**: First runner tags second player mid-course
- **Timed Countdown**: Course must be completed within strict time limit
- **Maze Swap**: Path is altered between runs without revealing
- **Blind Turn**: Final row must be navigated by memory only

---

**STAT TRACKING SUGGESTIONS**

- Total completion time
- Number of wrong steps
- Penalty time added
- Final score after penalties

---

**NOTES**
Memory Maze blends spatial recall and agility. Great for youth development, group bonding, and low-equipment environments. Scalable from small indoor setups to large outdoor arenas.
